SPARTANS TRAVEL TO FORT COLLINS ONE LAST TIME:  The San José State women’s basketball team plays a Mountain West game at Colorado State for the final time. The Rams currently sit in third place in the conference standings. The Spartans have a 2-11 record inside Moby Arena, the two wins coming in the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.

San José State enters the game with a 2-16 overall record and 0-7 mark in the Mountain West. The team is looking for its first conference win of the season after falling to conference co-leader UNLV, 78-50, Wednesday night inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center. Allie Cummins recorded her first 20-point game in her career as she went 7-for-12 from the field and 4-for-8 from three-point range.

ABOUT COLORADO STATE: The Rams enter Saturday’s game with a 14-4 overall record and 5-2 MW mark. The team won at Air Force, 65-63, Wednesday night and sits in third place in the conference standings, two games behind co-leaders San Diego State and UNLV. Head coach Ryun Williams is in his 14th season at Colorado State and 28th year as a head coach.

The Spartans outscored the Rams, 23-9, in the third quarter to open up an 18-point lead and maintained that throughout the fourth for the victory. Four Spartans scored in double figures, led by Sofia Kelemeni with 16.

CUMMINS REACHES 20-POINT PLATEAU: Allie Cummins scored 20 points for the first time in her collegiate career against UNLV on January 14. Cummins was 7-for-12 from the field, 4-of-8 from three-point range and 2-2 from the free throw line. She scored 13 of her 20 points in the third quarter.  She is the second Spartan this season to score 20+ points in a game.

WHO WANTS TO SCORE TONIGHT? Through 18 games this season, eight different Spartans have led the team in scoring. Maya Anderson has led the team in scoring in nine games, while Rylei Waugh led the team in three games. Amira Brown scored 12 points in the win at CBU and 16 points against New Mexico. Gabriela Pato scored 11 to lead the Spartans at No. 21 Washington. Katarina Anderson came off the bench at California and scored 10 points to lead SJSU. Stella Sgro scored a career-best 12 points off the bench at Wyoming. Carla Fuster and Allie Cummins each had 11 points at Fresno State. Cummins led the team with 20 points against UNLV.
