SAN JOSE, Calif. – San José State University Athletics is proud to announce the academic results for the Fall 2025 semester, revealing a continued upward trajectory in the classroom. The Spartans posted a collective 3.270 semester GPA, surpassing the 3.192 mark set in Fall 2024.
The department-wide success was fueled by individual excellence and comprehensive support, with nearly three-quarters of all student-athletes achieving a 3.0 GPA or higher.
"I am incredibly excited to celebrate the collective academic achievements of our student-athletes," said SJSU Director of Athletics Jeff Konya. "Their commitment to academic success continues to raise the bar for our department. These results are a testament to their hard work and the culture of excellence we are building at San José State."
Academic Highlights: Fall 2025
The Spartans saw improvements across the board compared to the previous year. Key highlights from the Academic Summary include:
Department-Wide Growth: The semester GPA for all teams rose to 3.270, while the cumulative SJSU GPA for all teams climbed to 3.285 (surpassing the Fall 2024 cumulative of 3.200).
- Team Excellence: 15 of 20 teams posted a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher, with 16 of 20 teams holding a cumulative GPA above the 3.0 mark.
- Individual Achievement: 338 student-athletes (70%) earned a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Cumulative Success: 342 student-athletes (71%) maintain a cumulative SJSU GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Perfect Marks: 49 student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester.
A Community of Support
These achievements are made possible through the collaboration of the coaching staff and the specialized support provided by the Student-Athlete Resource Center (SARC).
"We must give a special shoutout to the incredible SARC staff," said SJSU Managing Director of SARC De'Ron Jasper. "Their consistent hard work, attention to detail, and individualized support have been instrumental in helping our student-athletes thrive. Whether through academic coaching or simply being a trusted, supportive presence, they make a difference every single day."
