SPARTANS WELCOME THE PACK TO SAN JOSE:  The San José State women’s basketball team hosts Nevada this Wednesday, January 21, in a Mountain West game at the Provident Credit Union Event Center. The Wolf Pack are seventh in the conference standings with a 3-5 mark and 7-11 overall.

San José State enters the game with a 2-17 overall record and 0-8 mark in the Mountain West and is looking for its first conference win of the season after falling at Colorado State, 75-60, last Saturday. Amira Brown recorded her first 20-plus-point game in her career with 22 points as she went 7-for-14 from the field and 3-for-5 from three-point range.

ABOUT NEVADA: The Wolf Pack enter Wednesday night’s game with a 7-11 overall record and 3-5 Mountain West mark. The team is currently seventh in the standings after falling at Fresno State, 54-44, last Saturday, and at Grand Canyon, 65-51, last Wednesday. Head coach Amanda Levens is in her ninth season at the school with a 123-143 record and 13th coaching season with a 165-219 record.

The Spartans outscored the Wolf Pack, 23-15, in the third quarter to open up a lead and maintained that throughout the fourth for the victory. Amira Brown scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds.

M. ANDERSON LEADING THE SPARTANS:  Maya Anderson leads San José State in scoring with 234 points, 13.0 per game. She has led the team in points scored in nine games including a career-best 29 points in a win over Sacramento State. She has scored in double figures in 13 games this season.

Anderson also leads the team with 123 rebounds, 6.5 per game. She has led the team in boards in eight games - 8 at BYU, 9 against UC Santa Barbara, 12 versus Cal State Monterey Bay, 7 against Sacramento State and at Fresno State, 9 against GCU, New Mexico and Air Force and 6 versus UNLV.

BROWN JOINS THE 20+-POINT PARADE: Amira Brown joined the Spartan party of those scoring 20 or more points in a game this year. She is the third Spartan to reach this plateau this season with 22 at Colorado State on January 17. She was 7-for-14 from the field, 3-of-5 from three-point range and 5-of-6 from the free throw line. Brown joins Maya Anderson and Alllie Cummins who have scored 20 or more points in a game this year.

NATIONAL RANKINGS: Through January 19, the Spartans rank in the top-100 nationally in three categories.
