RENO, Nev. - Melvin Bell Jr. finished with 15 points on 5-of-14 shooting to lead the San José men’s basketball team (6-13, 1-7 MW) in a 87-54 loss to Nevada (14-5, 6-2 MW) Tuesday night from Lawlor Events Center.
Nevada shot 50.9 percent from the field and connected on 12 three-pointers, building a 39–26 halftime advantage before extending the margin in the second half. San José State was held to 32.8 percent shooting for the game and 4-of-24 from beyond the arc. The Spartans played without their three top scorers in the game.
Jermaine Washington recorded 14 points, adding three rebounds and two assists. Adrian Myers contributed eight points and four rebounds, and Marcus Overstreet added six points and a team-high seven rebounds off the bench.
