LARAMIE, Wyo. - Jermaine Washington and Sadraque NgaNga finished with14 points each to lead the San José men’s basketball team (6-14, 1-8 MW) in a 66-62 loss to Wyoming (12-8, 3-6 MW) Saturday Afternoon from Arena-Auditorium.
San José State erased an eight-point halftime deficit, staying within striking distance throughout a back-and-forth second half that featured six lead changes and six ties. The Spartans tied the game at 62 with 40 seconds remaining, but Wyoming scored off a goaltend on their next possession to take a two point lead. The Spartans would step out with a chance to tie or take the lead, securing the Cowboy victory.
San José State shot 39.3 percent from three-point range and forced 11 Wyoming turnovers in the game. However, Wyoming outrebounded the Spartans 44-25.
Adrian Myers chipped in nine points in the game. Colby Garland finished with 10 points and seven assists off the bench in his return to the court after a four game absence.
