WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - Avinash Iyer carded a team-best 72 (+2) on Tuesday to lead the San José State men’s golf team through the second round of the Southwestern Invitational at North Ranch Country Club.
As a unit, the Spartans head into the final round in 12th place with a two-round total of 584 (+24).
Individual Highlights
- Iyer: Paced the Spartans with four birdies on Tuesday. He sits in a tie for 29th individually with a total score of 144 (+4).
- Keshav “KC” Mungali: Recorded a pair of birdies to finish the day with a 73 (+3). He is currently tied for 32nd with a two-day total of 145 (+5).
- Ivan Barahona: Posted two birdies and finished the round with a 74 (+4). His 146 (+6) total puts him in a tie for 36th.
- Christian Maggard: Finished the day with a 75 (+5), including two birdies, moving his tournament total to 149 (+9) for a tie for 55th.
- Jed Dy: Shot a 75 (+5) on Tuesday, highlighted by the only eagle of the day for the Spartans. He is tied for 65th with a total of 153 (+13).
- Itai Cohen: Competing as an individual, Cohen enters the final round with a tournament total of 172 (+32).
