SAN JOSE, Calif. – Soledad Fayos Capilla shut out her opponents in doubles and quickly defeated her singles opponent to lead the San José State women’s tennis team (2-0, 0-0 MW) in a 7-0 win against Domincan University (Cal) (0-1, 0-0 Pac West) on Friday afternoon at the Spartan Tennis Complex.
The Spartans made their mark early by allowing only one point between the two doubles matches, quickly earning the doubles point. In singles play, all Spartans won their matches in straight sets.
- Fayos Capilla and Emma Fantousis shut out their opponents, 6-0
- Cristina Mateos Losada and Katarina Brajovic quickly won their doubles match, 6-1
- Mateos Losada did not allow her opponent to score on court six, 6-0, 6-0
- On court two, Fayos Capilla quickly wrapped up her singles match, 6-0, 6-2
- Tara Mihaljevic defeated her singles opponent, 6-3, 6-1
- Camila Celis bested her opponent, 6-1, 6-0
- Fantousis won her singles match, 6-0, 6-1
- On court one, Duru Durgun overcame her opponent 6-1, 6-0
