ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—Three Spartans scored in double figures, led by Maya Anderson with 16, and San José State made their final four baskets of the game but fell at New Mexico, 66-61, Wednesday night in a Mountain West game at The Pit.
- Anderson led the Spartans in scoring for the 13th time this season with her 16 points.
- Gabriela Pato scored a season-high 12 points as she went 4-for-7 from three-point range (both season highs).
- Katarina Anderson made her first start of the season and scored 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field.
- Amira Brown and Carla Fuster each scored 8 points in the game.
- Four Spartans grabbed five rebounds to lead SJSU – K. Anderson, Brown, M. Anderson and Pato.
- SJSU shot 43.8% from the field, making 21-of-48 shots taken, and 47.4% from three-point range (9-of-19).
- San José State trailed by 10 points at 62-52 with 3:53 remaining in the game before making a 9-2 run to cut the deficit to 64-61 on a Maya Anderson layup. Unfortunately, New Mexico made two free throws with 0.7 on the clock to seal the win.
- The Spartans did not block a shot in the game for only the second time this season.
