SPARTANS AT AIR FORCE FOR VALENTINE’S DAY: The San José State women’s basketball team finishes this two-game road trip on Saturday with a game at Air Force. The Falcons won the meeting in San Jose, 76-57, in January. Maya Anderson led SJSU with 17 points and 9 rebounds.
San José State enters Saturday’s game with a 3-22 overall record and a 1-13 mark in the Mountain West. The Spartans fell at New Mexico, 66-61, Wednesday evening. Maya Anderson led the team with 16 points, while Katarina Anderson made her first start of the season and contributed 10 points. Gabriela Pato came off the bench and hit four three-pointers to score a season-high 12 points.
ABOUT AIR FORCE: The Falcons enter Saturday’s game with a 11-13 overall record and 5-9 MW mark. The team has won three of their last four games, falling at Nevada, 75-59, Wednesday night. Head coach Stacy McIntyre is in her second year at the school.

M. ANDERSON LEADING THE SPARTANS: Maya Anderson leads San José State in scoring with 328 points, 13.1 per game. She has led the team in points scored in 13 games, including a career-best 29 points in a win over Sacramento State. She has scored in double figures in 18 games this season.
Anderson also leads the team with 164 rebounds, 6.6 per game. She has led the team in boards in 12 games - 8 at BYU, 9 against UC Santa Barbara, 12 versus Cal State Monterey Bay, 7 against Sacramento State and at Fresno State, 9 against GCU, New Mexico and Air Force, 6 versus UNLV, 8 at San Diego State and 5 at New Mexico.
WHO SAYS CENTERS CAN’T MAKE THREES?!: Gabriela Pato is showing her versatility this season, scoring in the paint and behind the three-point line. She scored 12 points in the team’s game at New Mexico (Feb. 11), making four three-pointers on seven attempts. For the season, Pato is 9-for-24 from three-point range.

K. ANDERSON MAKING A DIFFERENCE: Katarina Anderson is making an impact on the Spartan team in her first year with the Spartan program. She made her first start of the season Thursday night at New Mexico and was second on the team in scoring with 12 points. She was also one of four Spartans to pull down five rebounds to lead the team. Anderson led the team in scoring at California with 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field in 21 minutes of action. Anderson averages 4.7 points and 191 minutes played per game.
Anderson also gets others involved in the offense with 40 assists on the season. She dished out a team-best seven assists in the win over Cal State Monterey Bay.
