SANTA CLARA, Calif.—Darcy Spark scored the first and last Spartan goals and six more during the match to help the No. 18 San José State women’s water polo team to a 13-9 victory over Pomona-Pitzer Sunday morning at the Bronco Invitational.
- Spark scored the first goal of the match with 3:01 left in the first quarter.
- She scored twice in the second quarter, giving SJSU the 6-4 advantage at halftime.
- Spark scored all four Spartan goals in the third quarter and sealed the victory with her eighth goal of the match with 4:42 remaining in the match.
- Spark’s eight goals eclipsed her previous game-high of seven that she scored at Cal State Monterey Bay.
- Rose Jensen scored three goals, all in the second quarter, while Jennine Osorio and Bridget Cranley each scored a goal in the victory.
- Goalie Tatianna Raffin recorded nine saves and grabbed two steals, while Larke Eslinger had two saves
UP NEXT – The Spartans open the home portion of the schedule with matches against Southern California on February 21, and Arizona State on February 22. Both matches begin at 1 p.m. at the SRAC on the San José State campus.
