COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—San José State freshman gymnast Victoria Kisch is one of two gymnasts honored as Mountain West Freshman of the Week for her performance in Sunday’s meet against Utah State.
Kisch won the bars with a season-best 9.900. It was her first collegiate event title and the highest bars score by a Spartan gymnast this year. Her 9.900 tied for the highest score by a freshman in the league, tying Miraya Nero of Boise State, who had a 9.900 on beam.
The Spartans continue at home this Sunday, February 22, with a tri-meet against Air Force and UC Davis. The meet begins at 2 p.m. inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center. Tickets may be purchased HERE or at the Box Office on the day of the meet. Children 12 & under are free. Sunday’s meet theme is Superheroes and Princesses.
