Myers, Garland Combine for 45 at Boise State

BOISE, Idaho – Adrian Myers recorded a career-high 23 points to go along with eight rebounds and Colby Garland tallied 22 points and five assists to lead the San José State men’s basketball team (7-20, 2-14 MW) in a 84-69 loss to Boise State (16-11, 8-8 MW) Saturday afternoon from ExtraMile Arena. 

Boise State opened the game on a 17-2 run. The Spartans responded with an 8-0 run of their own and trimmed the deficit to five late in the half as the Broncos took a 36-31 advantage into the locker room.

In the second half, San José State closed the gap to two points at the 17:55 mark following a second-chance finish by Sadraque NgaNga. However, Boise State quickly pushed the margin back to double digits and would not look back. The Broncos shot 63 percent from the field in the second half and finished the game at 54.5 percent overall.

The Spartans shot 43.3 percent from the floor and were perfect from the free-throw line (7-for-7). The Spartans held a 15-8 edge in second-chance points, but struggled from beyond the arc, finishing 4-of-23.

  • NgaNga recorded 10 points, eight rebounds and knocked down two threes in the game
  • The Spartans only committed six turnovers
  • The last time the Spartans were perfect from the foul line was Jan. 24, 2024 against New Mexico when the Spartans shot 5-for-5 from the line
