COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—San José State gymnasts Mikaela Pitts and Sophie Patterson received Mountain West gymnastics weekly honors for their performances this past Sunday against Air Force and UC Davis.
Mikaela Pitts, Mountain West Co-Vault Specialist of the Week
- Won her third vault title of the season with a 9.850
- Her second weekly honor this season, after starting the year by winning the vault at the Arizona State/UC Davis meet
Sophie Patterson, Mountain West Freshman of the Week
- Finished tied for second on the beam with a season-high 9.875
- Third Freshman of the Week honor for Patterson
UP NEXT – The Spartans compete twice this week. Friday, the team travels to Sacramento State for a tri-meet with the Hornets and California beginning at 6:30 p.m. San José State then hosts a quad meet this Sunday, March 1, for Senior Day. The meet features Boise State, Arizona State, Sacramento State and the Spartans. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. The meet begins at 2 p.m. inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center. Tickets can be bought the day of the meet at the Box Office. Youth 12 and under are FREE.
