Anderson and Dillard Lead Spartans In Reno

RENO, Nev.—Maya Anderson and Kaliyah Dillard led the Spartans in scoring and rebounding Wednesday night as the San José State women’s basketball team fell at Nevada, 49-41, in a Mountain West game.

  • Anderson scored 15 points, making three three-pointers, to lead SJSU in scoring for the 17th time this season. It was also her eighth consecutive game to score in double figures.
  • Dillard grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds, including 10 defensive rebounds, to lead SJSU. She led the team in rebounding for the sixth time this year and the second of three games to grab double-digit rebounds.
  • The Spartans had eight blocks in the game, recording six in the first quarter.
  • Gabriela Pato led the team with four blocks, tying her career best she had against Saint Mary’s earlier this year.
  • Anderson had a career-high three blocks, and Dillard added a block in the game.
  • The Spartans scored only four points in the second quarter and 41 for the game, both season lows.
  • San José State started the third quarter on a 6-0 run to take a 22-18 lead just two minutes into the second half and led 22-18 with 6:17 left in the quarter.
