RENO, Nev. – San José State track and field continued competition at the Mountain West Indoor Championships on Friday, headlined by a podium finish from Ethan Fong in the long jump and a first place finish in the 60m dash by Zoe Ewell.
- Fong placed third in the men’s long jump, jumping 7.49m (24’ 7”)
- Ewell placed first in the women’s 60m dash prelim in both her heat and overall out of 25 competitors with a time of 7.30
- Ewell will compete in the women’s 60m dash final on Saturday
- Dontae Smith placed first in his heat in the men’s 400m prelim with a time of 47.60, qualifying for the men’s 400m final on Saturday
- Julius Baker placed second in his heat in the men’s 60m hurdles prelim with a time of 8.04
- Hayden Bowne placed fourth in his own heat in the men’s 60m hurdles prelim with a time of 8.04
- Both Baker and Bowne will compete in the men’s 60m hurdles final tomorrow
- Jared Jones placed third in his heat for the men’s 60m dash prelim with a time of 6.74, Jones will go on to compete in the men’s 60m dash final tomorrow
- SJSU has scored 9 points throughout the first two days of the championship, heading into the final day of the competition
