Three Spartans in Double Figures Against the Aztecs

SAN JOSE, Calif.—Three Spartans scored in double figures Saturday, led by Maya Anderson with 16 points, as the San José State women’s basketball team fell to Mountain West leader San Diego State, 81-52, inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center.

  • Anderson scored 12 of her 16 points from three-point range (4-of-7).
  • Amira Brown and Katarina Anderson each scored 10 points for SJSU.
  • Kaliyah Dillard came off the bench to lead the Spartans with nine rebounds, the second game this season she has led the team in boards.
  • Eight different Spartans had at least one assist in the game, led by Stella Sgro with three.
  • Dillard, the team’s second-leading shot blocker, led SJSU with two blocks, while K. Anderson and Amelie Sitterud each had one.

UP NEXT – The Spartans go on the road next week for games at New Mexico on the 11th and at Air Force on the 14th. Both games can be seen on the Mountain West Network.
