SAN JOSE, Calif.– Cristina Mateos Losada won her singles match in straight sets to lead the San José State women's tennis team (5-3, 0-0 MW) in a 5-2 loss against Cal Poly (5-3, 2-0 Big West) on Saturday afternoon from the Spartan Tennis Complex.
The Mustangs gained early momentum by sweeping the doubles point and quickly securing victories on courts four, two, and three to clinch the overall match. Despite the deficit, the Spartans battled back in the lower half of the lineup to earn two singles points.
Standout Singles: Mateos Losada delivered a dominant straight-sets performance on court six, defeating her opponent 6-4, 6-4.
Gritty Comeback: On court five, Camila Celis overcame an opening-set loss to win a tiebreak thriller, finishing 2-6, 7-6 (7-4), 10-4. The victory improves Celis' impressive singles dual match record to 6-1.

- Soledad Fayos Capilla fell short on court two, 6-3, 6-2.
