Spartan Beach Volleyball Wins Twice Saturday

SAN JOSE, Calif.—Two Spartan pairs went 2-0 on Saturday as the San José State beach volleyball team went 2-0 Saturday with wins over Santa Clara (4-1) and Sacramento State (3-2) at Spartan Beach.

  • Kylee Moore and Anna Salmon recorded their first of two wins on the day with a 21-17, 30-28 victory to get the Spartans the first point against the Broncos
  • Rio Thomas and Randi Reeves needed three sets for their victory and second Spartan point, 21-19, 18-21, 15-13.
  • Kaia Fanshier and Grace Baker clinched the dual win for the Spartans with a straight-set win – 21-15, 21-16.
  • Isabella Martinez and Mia Scheepens closed at the dual with a 21-18, 22-20 win.
  • In the win against the Hornets, Moore and Salmon again won in straight sets, 21-16, 21-19, and Fanshier and Baker won 21-13, 22-20.
  • Sabrina Moore and Sophia Torres won 21-12, 21-10 for the third Spartan point.
  • San José State is now 3-3 on the season.

UP NEXT – The Spartans travel to Hawaii for the Queen’s Cup Beach Volleyball Tournament. The team plays Saint Mary’s and Pepperdine on Thursday, Hawaii and Chaminade on Friday, and Concordia Irvine and UNCW on Saturday.
