DALY CITY, Calif. - Behind a standout performance from Keshav "KC" Mungali, the San José State men’s golf team concluded play at The Desimone Invitational on Tuesday at the historic Lake Merced Golf Club. Mungali carded an even-par 72 in the final round to finish at 7-under par for the tournament, leading the Spartans to an 11th-place team finish.
The Spartans finished ahead of three ranked teams.
Tournament Breakdown
Mungali: Finished in 11th place overall after carding an even-par 72 on Tuesday. His tournament total of 209 (-7) was anchored by a final round featuring four birdies.
Ivan Barahona: Finished tied for 28th place with a three-round score of 214 (-2). He carded a 77 (+5) during Tuesday's final 18 holes.
Avinash Iyer: Secured 37th place for the Spartans, finishing the tournament at even-par 216. He turned in a 75 (+3) in the final round.
Jed Dy: Climbed the leaderboard on Tuesday with a solid 73 (+1), including three birdies, to finish tied for 65th place with a total of 222 (+6).
Xuan Luo: Finished tied for 80th place with a total score of 227 (+11) after carding a 79 (+7) in the final round.
Team Performance: SJSU combined for a total score of 860 (-4) over three days of play.
UP NEXT: The Spartans head to The Duck Invitational March 23 and 24 at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore.
