LAS VEGAS - Colby Garland put up 22 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals while playing every single minute to lead No. 11 seed San José State (9-23, 3-17 MW) in an 84-74 victory over No. 6 seed Boise State (20-12, 12-8 MW) Wednesday night at the Thomas & Mack Center. With the win, the Spartans advance into the Quarterfinals of the Mountain West Championship and snapped Boise State's five-game winning streak.

The Broncos jumped out to an early lead, going up by as many as five points. The Spartans answered with a 7–0 run to take control and eventually built their advantage to eight. The Broncos responded with an 11–0 surge to briefly reclaim the lead, but a buzzer-beating three-pointer from Garland gave the Spartans a 41–39 edge heading into halftime.

San José State pulled away in the second half. The Spartans recorded four blocks and held the Broncos to 35.5 percent shooting, including just 2-of-12 from beyond the arc after the break. The lead grew to as many as 16 points with six minutes remaining, effectively sealing the win for SJSU.
