PHOENIX— Camila Celis and Katarina Brajovic won in doubles to lead the San José State women's tennis team (6-4, 0-1 MW) in a 4-0 loss against GCU (7-6, 1-0 MW) on Friday morning from the GCU Tennis Facility for their conference opener.
- Celis and Brajovic defeated their opponents on court three, 6-3.
- Despite the win, the Spartans dropped the doubles point as Duru Durgun and doubles partner Emma Fantousis fell short, 6-2, and Soledad Fayos Capilla and Cristina Mateos Losada lost, 6-4.
- From court two, Fayos Capilla fell short, 6-3, 6-0.
- Tara Mihaljevic was bested by her opponent, 6-4, 6-2.
- On court five, Celis dropped her singles match, 7-5, 6-2.
