EUGENE, Ore. - Ivan Barahona shot an even-par 142 on Monday to lead the San José State men’s golf team through the first two rounds of The Duck Invitational at Eugene Country Club.
The Spartans sit in a tie for fourth place in the 15-team field, posting a 36-hole total of 577 (+9). SJSU currently holds a lead over several nationally ranked programs heading into the final round.
Individual Highlights
Barahona (T11, E): After an opening-round 74 (+3), Barahona surged in the afternoon with a 3-under 68. His second round was highlighted by three birdies and an eagle.
Avinash Iyer (T14, +1): Iyer remained consistent throughout the day, carding a 72 (+1) and an even-par 71. He recorded six birdies across the first two rounds.
Keshav "KC" Mungali (T19, +2): "KC" Mungali turned in a steady performance, shooting identical rounds of 72 (+1).
Jed Dy (T51, +8): Dy finished the day at 150 (76-74), fueled by an eagle and six birdies.
Christian Maggard (T60, +9): Competing as an individual, Maggard opened with a strong 72 (+1) before finishing the day with a 79.
Xuan Luo (T78, +12): Luo carded a 74 and an 80, highlighted by an eagle during his opening 18 holes.
