STANFORD, Calif. - Keshav "KC" Mungali continued his hot streak, carding a 69 (-1) on Friday, leading the San José State men’s golf team in the second round of The Goodwin from the Stanford Golf Course.
The Spartans posted a collective 569 (+10) through 36 holes, placing them 16th overall in a massive 30-team field. SJSU currently sits ahead of four nationally ranked programs heading into the final day of competition.
Individual Highlights
- Mungali was bolstered by five birdies in the second round and sits in a tie for seventh place individually with a total score of 135 (-5).
- Avinash Iyer also turned in a gritty performance, recording four birdies to finish the day with a 71 (+1). Iyer remains under par for the tournament with a 139 (-1), good for a tie for 22nd place.
- Christian Maggard is tied for 125th (+9) after a solid Friday, carding a 73 (+3) after matching the team lead with five birdies during the second round, demonstrating a strong bounce-back from Thursday’s opener.
- Ivan Barahona battled a tough layout to finish Friday with a 75 (+5) and is tied for 132nd.
- Jed Dy delivered a significant turnaround on Friday, shaving 12 strokes off his opening round to card a 71 (+1).
- Xuan Luo, competing as an individual, carded a 75 (+5) on Friday.
