FORT COLLINS, Colo.— Cristina Mateos Losada won in singles and doubles to lead the San José State women's tennis team (7-8, 0-5 MW) in a close 4-3 loss against Colorado State (5-11, 1-4 MW) on Friday afternoon from the Fort Collins Country Club.
- Mateos Losada and doubles partner Soledad Fayos Capilla won against their opponents, 6-2.
- Katarina Brajovic and Camila Celis defeated their doubles opponent after a hard-fought 7-5 victory, securing the Spartans the doubles point.
- Duru Durgun defeated her opponent in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
- Mateos Losada won in singles with a close tiebreaking first set, 7-6, (10-8), 6-2.
- Fayos Capilla fell short in singles, 6-3, 2-6, 3-6.
- Emma Fantousis was bested by her opponents after a long battle, 4-6, 7-6 (13-11), 6-7 (6-8).
- Tara Mihaljevic dropped her singles match, 6-2, 6-2.
