SPARTANS BEGIN PLAY AT TOURNAMENT ON SATURDAY: The San José State women’s basketball team enters the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championships as the 12th seed and faces 5th-seed Boise State this Saturday, March 7, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Both teams enter the game on a losing streak as the Broncos fell at UNLV, 76-47. The winner of Saturday’s game advances to the quarterfinals to play 4th-seeded New Mexico.
San José State enters the game with a 4-27 overall record and finishes conference play with a 2-18 mark. The Spartans are looking to stop a four-game losing streak after falling to Colorado State, 67-44, Tuesday evening.

ABOUT BOISE STATE: The Broncos enter Saturday’s game with a 23-8 overall record and 14-6 MW mark. The team enters the game having lost two of its three previous games including a 76-47 loss at UNLV Wednesday night. Boise State won both meetings against the Spartans this season. Head coach Gordy Presnell is in his 21st season at the school and 39th as a head coach.

DOUBLE-DOUBLES ON THE COURT: This season, three Spartans have recorded double-doubles. Maya Anderson recorded her second double-double Tuesday night with 16 points and 15 rebounds against Colorado State. Her first double-double came in December as she led the team with 18 points and 12 rebounds in the win over CS Monterey Bay.
Amira Brown has two double-doubles on the season, her first and the team’s first was 12 points and 12 rebounds at California Baptist on November 14. She ended 2025 recording her second double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds at Utah State.
Gabriela Pato recorded her first collegiate double-double with 10 points and a career-high 10 rebounds against Saint Mary’s on December 4.
