HONOLULU—Two Spartan pairs went 2-0 on the final day of the Heineken Queen’s Cup as the San José State beach volleyball team won over Concordia Irvine, 4-1, and UNCW, 3-2, to close out play and go 3-3 at the tournament.
- Sabrina Moore and Anna Salmon swept both of their opponents on the day for their undefeated record.
- Jordan Hickerson and Aubrey McBride, playing the fifth position, needed three sets to win over Concordia, 21-17, 13-21, 15-12. They then swept the UNCW pair, 21-19, 25-23.
- Rio Thomas and Randi Reeves got the Spartans the first point against Concordia Irvine with a straight-set win, 21-19, 26-24.
- Mia Scheepens and Isabella Martinez won in three sets for the final point against Concordia Irvine.
- Kaia Fanshier and Grace Baker won in straight sets for the final Spartan point against UNCW.
UP NEXT – The Spartans return home next weekend for contests on March 13 and 14.
