SAN JOSE, Calif. - Due to forecasted inclement weather, the San José State softball team has adjusted its upcoming home series against San Diego State. The teams will now play a doubleheader on Saturday, April 11, at the Spartan Softball Complex.
Game 1: First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
Game 2: Scheduled to begin 30 minutes following the conclusion of the first game.
Both games are scheduled to be broadcast on the Mountain West Network.
- The Spartans hold a record of 23-44 against the Aztecs. The last time the Spartans defeated the Aztecs was on April 17, 2021, in a 1-0 game on the road. Their last win at home was on April 16, 2016, in a 9-2 game.
- These two games will also mark the final meeting as Mountain West opponents
- Carly Cummings has drawn 17 walks on the year and is currently tied for ninth on the season in the MW
- Reina Zermeno currently sits in second in the MW in triples, ripping four on the season
- Ahmiya Noriega is currently 10th in the MW in batting average, slugging a .368
- Noriega was selected to the 2026 Mountain West Preseason Team. Noriega led the nation in triples last season with 10 while having a .352 avg, 26 hits and two homeruns
