SAN JOSE, Calif.— Emma Fantousis won in the first set of her singles match to lead the San José State women's tennis team (7-12, 0-9 MW) in a 4-0 loss against No. 62 UNLV (15-3, 8-1 MW) on Friday morning from the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
- The Spartans dropped the doubles point after losses on courts three and two.
- Fantousis held a strong front from court two, winning in the first set of her match before it went unfinished.
- Soledad Fayos Capilla fell short from court three, 6-2, 6-1.
- Camila Celis dropped her singles match, 6-3, 6-0.
- Tara Mihaljevic was bested by her opponent, 6-2, 6-2.
- Duru Durgun also fought strongly as her first set went into tiebreaks before going unfinished.
