Celis Wins in Singles in Final Home Match

SAN JOSE, Calif.– Camila Celis won in straight sets in singles to lead the San José State women's tennis team (7-13, 1-10 MW) in a 4-1 loss against Nevada (9-10, 5-5 MW) from the Spartan Tennis Complex on Monday afternoon for the Spartans' final home match.

The Spartans matched the Wolfpack's pace, starting in doubles, winning on court three after a loss on court two. However, Nevada took the win on court one to secure the doubles point.

As singles commenced, the Spartans started off strong, taking the lead in almost all first sets of their respective matches. Celis' win in singles put the Spartans on the board, but the Spartans' efforts fell short in all the other matches.

UP NEXT: The Spartans will have their final match of the regular season against their fellow foe, Fresno State, on Thursday, April 16, from the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center in Fresno, Calif., at 3:00 p.m.
