It's All Spartans as SJSU Concludes Spring Practice with Annual Spring Game

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Under a picture-perfect San Jose sky, the next chapter of San José State football took center stage on Saturday afternoon at CEFCU Stadium. In a dramatic conclusion to the annual Spring Game, kicker Trajan Sinatra sent the Spartan faithful home happy, splitting the uprights with a booming 54-yard field goal as time expired.

The atmosphere was electric before the 1:00 p.m. kickoff, with 5,020 coming to watch the Spartans. Dedicated fans began arriving as early as 10:30 a.m., packing the Habbas Law Athletics Center to catch the 2026 roster. With a 13-game season on the horizon—highlighted by seven home games at CEFCU Stadium—the afternoon served as a promising preview of the talent and depth the Spartans will bring to the gridiron this fall.

The event was more than just a practice; it was a celebration of the San José community.

  • Youth Engagement: Following the final whistle, nearly 200 young fans took to the field for the annual Kids Camp presented by CEFCU. The participants received hands-on instruction from Spartan players and coaches, creating lasting memories with their local heroes.
  • Local Flavor: The crowd remained fueled throughout the warm afternoon thanks to the local favorites at the STACKD food truck, which served as the centerpiece of the day’s fan experience.

With spring ball officially in the books, the Spartans now transition into their summer conditioning program. The momentum from today’s performance provides a strong foundation as the team prepares for the official start of training camp later this year.
