STANFORD, Calif.—The San José State beach volleyball team played twice on Saturday at the West Coast Classic hosted by Stanford, falling to No. 7 California and No. 2 Stanford, 5-0, in each dual.
- Mia Scheepens and Isabella Martinez took their match to three sets against the Golden Bears, winning the first set 21-17 before falling 21-19 and 15-12.
- Kaia Fanshier and Grace Baker, playing in the first position, played two tight sets against Cal, 21-17 and 21-18.
- All five Spartan pairs fell in straight sets to second-ranked Stanford.
UP NEXT – The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament will be held April 22-24 at Spiker Beach in Huntington Beach, Calif. Tournament seedings and pairings will be announced on Sunday, April 19.
