
SAN JOSE, Calif. - Marquis "Mookie" Cook, a 6-6 forward transfer from the University of San Francisco and a 2023 McDonald's All-American, will join the San José State men’s basketball team for the 2026-27 season, as announced by head coach Tim Miles.

- Averaged 7.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 20.7 minutes per game last season at USF
- Also shot .444 from the field, .397 from three and .714 from the line in 2025-26
- Scored in double-figures 10 times last season, including a career-high 18 points at Memphis
- Spent his first two collegiate seasons at the University of Oregon
- Appeared in 24 games for the Ducks his sophomore season and scored six points against Liberty in the NCAA Tournament
- Appeared in five games his freshman season at Oregon
- 2023 McDonald’s All-American and a consensus four-star recruit
- Will be the first ever McDonald’s All-American to play at SJSU
- Was the 21st ranked prospect in the ESPN top 100 and the 40th ranked prospect by 247Sports
- Named to the 2023 Jordan Brand National Team
