Spartans to Host Final Home Series of The Season

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San José State softball team (13-29, 5-14 MW) will host its final home series of the 2026 season by hosting New Mexico (22-23, 9-10 MW) in a three-game series, starting on Friday, April 24, with a first pitch of 6:00 p.m.

The game can be watched on Mountain West Network

Sunday's game will be senior day and will recognize the three Spartan seniors in Shay McDowell, Ahmiya Noriega and Reina Zermeno

  • Zermeno currently sits second in the MW and tied 21st nationally in triples, ripping five on the season and sits 10th in the conference in batting average with a .360
  • Noriega has stolen 11 bags on the year, which ranks her fifth in the MW
  • Carly Cummings has drawn 22 walks on the year and is currently tied for sixth on the season in the MW
  • In 31 games, Delaney Faus has pitched the second-most innings in the MW by pitching 130.2
  • Norah Coulsell has two saves on the season and ranks her tied for sixth in the MW
  • The Spartans hold a record of 30-24 record against the Lobos. The last time the Spartans defeated the Lobos was last season on March 14 in a 12-3 five-inning game
