SJSU Football Announces Key Staff Promotions and New Appointments

SAN JOSE, Calif. – San José State head football coach Ken Niumatalolo has announced several key leadership moves and additions within the Spartan football support staff, headlined by the promotions of Clesi Crochet and Will Turpin, along with the addition of John Agarpao.

These staff updates underscore San José State’s commitment to internal growth and to recruiting top-tier talent to enhance the program’s operational and scouting infrastructure.

Crochet – Promoted to Interim Assistant AD for Football Operations

Crochet, a cornerstone of the Spartans’ administrative team since 2022, has been elevated to Interim Assistant Athletic Director for Football Operations. Since arriving in San Jose, Crochet has climbed the ranks, most recently serving as Director of Football Operations. Her previous experience has been instrumental in the Spartans’ daily logistics and team travel.

Turpin – Promoted to Assistant Coordinator of Player Personnel

A native of San Jose, Turpin has been promoted to Assistant Coordinator of Player Personnel. Since joining the Spartans in April 2024, Turpin has been a key asset in the program’s scouting and talent evaluation efforts. Before returning to the South Bay, Turpin spent two seasons at the University of Kansas, where he played a pivotal role in signing one of the highest-rated recruiting classes in Jayhawk history.

Agarpao – Assistant Director of Football Operations

The Spartans also welcome Agarpao to the staff as Assistant Director of Football Operations after originally joining SJSU as a football operations intern in January of 2026. Agarpao joins the program with a championship pedigree, having served as a football operations intern for the Kansas City Chiefs during their 2025 training camp. A graduate of the University of San Diego, Agarpao spent four seasons with the Toreros’ football program, eventually rising to the role of Football Operations Assistant.
