SAN JOSE, Calif. - Leata Sherlin hit a two-out two RBI single to lead the San José State softball team (11-24, 3-9 MW) in the 6-2 loss to Fresno State (17-15, 6-6 MW) on Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs scored all six of their runs in the back half of the game, scoring two in the fourth, one in the fifth and three in the sixth innings.
The Spartans only responded in the sixth inning. In a 2-2 count with Sophia Burdick and Haley Reeve both on base, Sherlin lined a single into center field to score both runners.
- Sherlin extends her hitting streak to four games
- Reeve now has an on-base streak through six games
- Delaney Faus pitched 5.0 innings with three strikeouts. She is now four away from 50 on the season
UP NEXT: The Spartans will next travel to Ft. Collins, Colo. to face off against Colorado State in a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 8. First pitch is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and both games can be watched on Mountain West Network.
