Two Pairs Victorious on Saturday

BERKELEY, Calif.—Two Spartan pairs were victorious on Saturday as the San José State beach volleyball team dropped a pair of duals to UC Davis, 3-2, and No. 9 California, 5-0.

Kaia Fanshier and Grace Baker won in straight sets over UC Davis, 24-22, 25-23. The pair then pushed the Cal pair to three sets, winning the first set 21-19, before falling 21-15, 15-9.

Mia Scheepens and Isabella Martinez won at the number-one spot, 25-23 and 21-19, over the Aggies.

Rio Thomas and Randi Reeves pushed the UC Davis pairs to three sets, falling 22-20 in the first set, winning the second 21-18, before falling 15-9.

UP NEXT – The Spartans travel to Santa Clara on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. dual at the Santa Clara Beach Volleyball Courts.
