SANTA CLARA, Calif.—Two Spartan pairs were victorious on Tuesday as the San José State beach volleyball team fell 3-2 in a close dual at Santa Clara.
Grace Baker and Kaia Fanshier recorded the first point of the day, winning in three sets – 22-20, 17-21, 15-6, in the third position.
Addison DeMarse and Olivia Paxton ended the dual with a win, 17-21, 21-12, 18-16, in the fifth position
Sabrina Moore and Anna Salmon, in the fourth spot, pushed their match to three sets, falling 21-17 before winning 21-16 and forcing a hard-fought third set, which went to the Broncos 15-13.
Playing in the exhibition spot, Jordan Hickerson and Aubrey McBride won 17-21, 21-12, 18-16.
UP NEXT – The Spartans play four times this weekend at the University of the Pacific. On Saturday, SJSU plays UC Davis at 8 a.m., and Pacific at noon. The following day, the Spartans play Saint Mary’s at noon and Cal State Bakersfield at 4 p.m.
