Iyer Ties for Sixth, Spartans Finish Strong at Mountain West Championship

TUCSON, Ariz. - Avinash Iyer surged into a tie for sixth place to lead the San José State men’s golf team through the final round of the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championship. Competing at the Omni Tucson National Resort, the Spartans finished the tournament 28-under par (836), securing sixth place in a 12-team field.

Iyer: Paced the Spartans with a final-round 68 (-4), featuring six birdies. He finished the tournament at 10-under-par (206).

Jed Dy: Climbed into a tie for 15th place after a stellar final-round 68 (-4). Dy racked up six birdies on Tuesday to finish at 7-under-par (209).

Keshav "KC" Mungali: Delivered a clean final round, carding a 68 (-4) with five birdies and just a single bogey. He finished the week tied for 19th at 6-under-par (210).

Ivan Barahona: Finished in a tie for 27th place at 3-under-par (213) after carding a 74 (+2) in the final round.

Christian Maggard: Rounded out the Spartan lineup in a tie for 46th place with a total score of 219 (+3).
