CLEVELAND - San José State football continues to command the national spotlight heading into the 2026 season, with six Spartans earning spots on the prestigious Phil Steele Preseason All-Mountain West Team.
Special teams standouts Trent Carrizosa and Trajan Sinatra lead the Spartan contingent with second-team honors. Carrizosa enters the season recognized as one of the premier specialists in the conference, while Sinatra joins his counterpart after proving to be a consistent game-changer at Idaho State last season.
The Spartans made a strong showing on the third team with three selections across the trenches and the defense. Offensive lineman Tyler Chen anchors the recognition upfront, underscoring his vital role in paving the way for the offense. On the other side of the ball, defensive lineman Solomone Langi and linebacker Ethan Powell both earned nods, cementing their status as leaders of a disruptive Spartan defense.
Rounding out the national recognition is linebacker Naseri Danielson, who secured a spot on the fourth team. Danielson’s inclusion highlights the impressive depth and athleticism of San José State's linebacker corps heading into the fall.
