
SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San José State men's water polo team has released its schedule for the 2026 season. The Spartans will play 25 matches in 2026, including nine home games at the Spartan Recreation and Aquatics Center.
The Spartans will open the season on Sept. 5 in a doubleheader at the Aggie Roundup hosted by UC Davis, facing Cal and then either Biola or UC Merced. SJSU will then head east to compete in the Princeton Invitational, playing Wagner, LIU, Harvard and Princeton from Sept. 11-12. The Spartans will next face Fordham on the road on Sept. 13 in what will be a rematch from last seasons’ NCAA Tournament opening round game.
The Spartans will next head back to California to compete in four games at the MPSF Invite, hosted by Stanford. Matchups will be determined at a later date based on the first week of national rankings. SJSU will also face Stanford on the road on Sept. 25.
The Spartans will play their home opener on Sept. 26 at the LW Tourney, competing against West Valley College and UC Merced. The Spartans will next stay home to compete in the BW Invitational where they will face UC Santa Barbara and Saint Mary’s on Oct. 3.
SJSU will next open WCC conference play against Pacific on Oct. 9 and UC Davis on Oct. 11, both games at the SRAC. They will then go back out on the road to face LMU on Oct. 17 and Pepperdine on Oct. 18.
The Spartans will next play three games in the annual Julian Fraser Memorial. The Spartans will first face Brown on Oct. 23 at Santa Clara University before heading home to play Cal Baptist on Oct. 24 and Bucknell on Oct. 25.
San José State will next continue conference play against Santa Clara on the road on Oct. 31. They will then close out the regular season at home against Air Force on Nov. 6 and Saint Mary’s on Nov. 8.
The WCC Tournament will take place from Nov. 20-22 at Santa Clara University.
The Spartans are the reigning WCC champions and qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the second time in the last three seasons in 2025. The Spartans finished last season as the sixth ranked team in the country, their best finish since the team was reinstated in 2015.
