OGDEN, Utah—Six Spartans recorded kills, led by Tatiana Robinson with 10, as the San José State volleyball team swept San Francisco 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-20) for the first win of the season as the team concluded play at the Wildcat Invitational.
- Robinson led the team with her 10 kills as she hit .400 for the match (10-2-20). She was named to the Wildcat Invitational All-Tournament Team.
- Lolohea Fonua added nine kills, while Zuzana Kosíková and Naima Foster each recorded seven kills.
- The Spartans had eight blocks in the match, led by Ava Hewitt-Smith with six, one solo and five assists. Robinson added four block assists for SJSU.
- Setters Fatimah Hall and Hanna Darvas recorded 16 and 14 assists, respectively.
- Fonua led the Spartans defensively with nine digs, while Darvas had seven digs.
- San José State never lost the lead in the first two sets. The two teams were tied at 16-16 in the third set before the Spartans opened a 20-17 lead on a Fonua kill and won the set on a Foster kill.
UP NEXT – The Spartans open the home portion of the 2026 schedule with the SJSU Invite, September 3-6, at Spartan Gym, inside the YUH Complex, on the corner of Fourth and San Carlos Streets. Admission is free to all matches, and parking is available in the West Garage.
