RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. — Dominic Lucchesi carded four birdies and a 1-over-par 72 in the second round to lead the San José State men’s golf team on the opening day of the Vuori Invitational at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club to open the 2026-27 season.
The Spartans ended Monday in 12th place, though second-round play was suspended due to darkness after playing the first round earlier in the day, with the individual Joey Allan still on the course.

- Lucchesi: T-45th (+6, 148) | Posted a 72 (+1) in round two after making his Spartan debut.
- Noah Scavo: T-45th (+6, 148) | Matched Lucchesi in his first collegiate event, turning in back-to-back rounds of 74.
- Keshav "KC" Mungali: T-56th (+8, 150) | Bounced back from an opening 78 with a pair of birdies and a 72 (+1) for his second round.
- Christian Maggard: T-68th (+16, 158) | Highlighted his day with a 4-over 75 in the second round, adding three birdies.
- Jackson Lutz: 73rd (+20, 162) | Completed his first two collegiate rounds with scores of 83 and 79.
