The San José State volleyball team opens the home portion of the 2026 schedule this weekend by hosting the SJSU Invite at Spartan Gym, inside the YUH Complex, on the corner of Fourth and San Carlos Streets.

- The Spartans return home after starting the season 1-2 at the Wildcat Invitational last weekend, falling to Belmont (3-2) and Weber State (3-0) but sweeping San Francisco (3-0).
- Tatiana Robinson was named to the Wildcat Invitational All-Tournament team. She led the team in kills against Weber State (6) and San Francisco (10).
- Robinson and Learden Lee led the Spartan blocking attack as each player recorded nine blocks in the three matches. Ava Hewitt-Smith added eight blocks, including six in the win over San Francisco.
- Newcomer Zuzana Kosíková is second on the team in kills with 29, 2.64 per set, and leads the team in digs with 34, 3.09 ps.
- Fatimah Hall and Hanna Darvas are the team’s primary setters. Hall is averaging 5.82 assists and 1.91 digs ps, while Darvas averages 4.45 assists ps.
- ]The starting lineup features five returning players from 2025 - Hall, Lolohea Fonua, Hewitt-Smith, Lee and Naima Foster. Kosíková rounds out the lineup, and newcomers Orian Drore and Kylee Sells start at the libero positions.
- Three Spartans recorded double-doubles against Belmont – Hall with 33 assists and 10 digs, Kosíková with 16 kills and 15 digs and Fonua with 11 kills and 10 digs.
- Admission for the tournament is free. Parking is available in the West Garage (corner of 4th and San Carlos). Fans are reminded to pay before exiting the garage.
