COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Keshav "KC" Mungali carded a 1-under 71 on Sunday to lead the San José State men's golf team in the team event, while teammate Joey Allan maintained his spot atop the individual leaderboard with a 4-under 68 in the second round of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational at the Eisenhower Golf Course.
Through two rounds, the Spartans sit tied for 11th place out of 18 teams on the Blue Course with a combined score of 4-over 580 heading into Monday’s final round.
Mungali fired six birdies during his Sunday round to climb into a tie for 12th place individually with a two-day total of 3-under 141.
- Grant Leary recorded five birdies on the day to shoot a 1-over 73, placing him in a tie for 34th at 1-over 145.
- Dominic Lucchesi also posted a 1-over 73 with two birdies, joining Noah Scavo (80) in a tie for 67th at 6-over 150.
- Ryan Pupach rounded out the team entry with a second-round 76 (+4) to sit tied for 72nd at 7-over 151.
Competing as individuals on the Silver Course, three Spartans continued to deliver strong performances. Allan was standard-setting once again, rolling in six birdies on Sunday. With just four bogeys through two rounds, he holds sole possession of first place with a blistering 10-under 134 overall score.
- Jackson Lutz shot a 79 (+7) on Sunday to sit tied for 15th at 5-over 149 on the Silver Course leaderboard.
- Brady Foster posted an 83 (+11) on Sunday.
