SAN DIEGO- Emma Fantousis won her singles match in a three-set comeback and defeated No. 39 BYU in doubles to lead the San José State women's tennis team in day one of the USD USTA Tournament in San Diego.
- Emma Fantousis and Emilija Pranyte defeated BYU's Yu-Yun Chen and Chelsea Bluestein, who finished the 2025-26 season ranked No. 38, 6-4, in doubles.
- Camila Celis and Soledad Fayos Capilla fell short against University of Nevada's Petra Janigova and Nikol Janickovicova, 6-2.
- In singles, Celis was bested by Stanford's Kaia Giribalan, 6-2, 6-0.
- Pranyte fell short against BYU's Sephi Sheng, 6-3, 6-1.
- In a tight three-set match, Fayos Capilla lost 7-5, 0-6, 4-6.
