IRVINE, Calif.- Sam Keightley has been named to the Cutino Award Watch List announced by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches Monday morning. The Peter J. Cutino Award recognizes the top men's water polo player in the nation. Keightley is one of 20 players named to the watch list and one of four underclassmen to earn the distinction.
The utility player from Sydney, Australia, has now racked up 99 career goals through his sophomore season and ranks among the Spartans' leading scorers. This season, he has tallied 43 goals and has scored at least three or more goals in nine matches.
The No. 9 ranked Spartans will host the BW Invitational on Saturday at the SRAC and will compete against No. 14 UC Santa Barbara and No. 19 Saint Mary's.
