NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Paige Fry recorded the first clean sheet of her career to lead the San José State women's soccer team (0-3-2) to a 0-0 draw against CSUN on Thursday night.
The Spartans first tested the keeper in the 16th minute when Analise Martins fired a shot from outside the box that forced the Matadors' keeper into a full-extension diving save to her right.
They then tested the CSUN keeper again with Indigo Sims forcing the keeper to make a jumping catch in the 21st minute.
Abigail Peterman tested the keeper herself in the 37th minute after receiving a cross from Sims, which the keeper was able to wrap up.
Fry recorded four saves in the match, preventing the Matadors from scoring on their 13 shots to the Spartans' nine.
- Eight different Spartans recorded a shot on goal against the Matadors
- Peterman, Sims, Martins and Paige Pineda-Aliamus each recorded a shot on target
- Sims, Alexi Ames, Charlotte Memoly and Mercedes Cioffi each played the entire match
- The last time the Spartans played in a scoreless game was on Oct. 9, 2024, against Wyoming
- The last time the Spartans and Matadors drew in a match was on Sept. 9, 2016
