SAN JOSE, Calif.—Three Spartans recorded 10+ kills, led by Learden Lee with 11, as the San José State volleyball team defeated Pacific 3-1 (25-18, 25-16, 15-25, 25-20) Friday evening in day two of the SJSU Invite at Spartan Gym.
- Lee hit .474 for the match as she recorded her 11 digs on 19 attempts and only two hitting errors.
- Lolohea Fonua and Devon DeNecochea each had 10 kills in the match. DeNecochea’s 10th kill was the match-winner for the Spartans.
- Ava Hewitt-Smith led SJSU with four blocks, two solo and two assists, while Lee and DeNecochea each had three blocks for SJSU.
- Fatimah Hall recorded her second double-double of the year with 19 assists and a team-high 15 digs.
- Orian Drore had a season-best 12 digs and four assists in the win.
- Hanna Darvas nearly recorded a double-double with 17 assists and nine digs.
- Zuzana Kosíková led the Spartans in serving with a season-high four aces and contributed eight kills and nine digs.
- San José State took early leads in the first two sets to win 25-18 and 25-16. Pacific never relinquished the lead in the third set to win 25-15. The Spartans took an early 2-1 lead on a Morgan Graves ace and never looked back in the fourth set to win 25-20.
- Graves came off the bench in the third set and played the entire fourth set, contributing five kills and five digs.
