SAN JOSE, Calif.—Behind a season-best 13 service aces, five from Fatimah Hall, the San José State volleyball team finished 3-0 at the SJSU Invite this weekend with a 3-0 sweep of LSU New Orleans Sunday inside Spartan Gym.

  • The 13 service aces are tied for the third-most nationally in a three-set match and the most by a team in the Mountain West this season.
  • Hall set a new career high with her five aces in the three sets. She nearly had another double-double with 23 assists and eight digs.
  • Morgan Graves recorded a career-best three aces to go with four kills, seven digs and a block assist.
  • Zuzana Kosíková led the Spartans with 11 kills, hitting .478 (11-0-23) and contributing four digs and two blocks (1-1).
  • Tatiana Robinson started at right side, hitting.571 with eight kills on 14 attempts and two blocks.
  • Ryleeh Tuaolo started sets two and three, hitting .778 with seven kills on nine attempts, and added three blocks (1-2).
  • Five other players recorded at least one kills in the match, and 15 players saw action in the match.
  • The Spartans hit a season-best .450 in the match with 41 kills on 80 attempts and only five errors.
  • SJSU recorded eight blocks in the three sets.

SJSU Invite All-Tournament Team

UP NEXT – The Spartans travel to Southern California next weekend for three matches. The team faces Utah Tech (at UC Irvine) on Friday, at Long Beach on Saturday and at UC Irvine on Sunday.
