LAS VEGAS - San José State placekicker Trajan Sinatra has been named the Old Trapper Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Week following his two long field-goal performance in the Spartans' 27-21 victory over Eastern Michigan, announced by the conference on Monday.
The San Jose native accounted for a 45-yard field goal to end the first half and a 49-yard field goal with just over a minute left in the game to give the Spartans a six-point lead. Sinatra also went a perfect 3-for-3 on point-after-touchdown (PAT) attempts to help spark SJSU's second-half rally against the Eagles and lead the Spartans to their first road win since Nov. 9, 2024.
Sinatra becomes the first San José State player to earn Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Week honors since punter Will Hart received the recognition in 2021, and the first Spartan placekicker since Matt Mercurio in 2019.
